Music

In growing up I always sang in the church and began singing outside 
functions while in high school. I sang with the Stephen Foster Singers 
and also performed the solo at our high school prom when in was a junior 
- as entertainment for the seniors.

After high school I began college and was studying opera - but did not 
like the confinement of having just one type of music to perform. I 
loved opera (and still do)
but I wanted more variety. I enjoyed gospel and other forms of music.

In college I sang with the choir and performed many solos; also did many 
concerts for credit and experience. When in a pageant during this time, 
I also sang for my talent.  Also did some local performances and did 
some television appearance singing gospel music.

During two summers while in college, I sang with a trio (two separate 
ones). It was a lot of fun and we had some television time too.

Also, while in college, I began singing with a local band. I learned 
quite a bit performing for about 20 years part-time over the Southeast 
with a band. We played week-ends and holidays. We did a variety of 
music: funk, rock, beach, blues and even heavy metal. As dancing was 
always a favorite pastime, I enjoyed that part of the performing as 
well. AUGUST was the band.

Once during this time I was offered an opportunity to sing with the 
Impressions but I did not want to be on the road all the time and I 
wanted a more stable life. So I chose not to go that route.

Later on I sang with a band which was getting back together after many 
years. This band played mostly oldies and beach. I did not feel as 
challenged with this type music but we had so much fun. We performed 
together for the last three years of the time I sang with a band.
ESCORTS was the name of this band. 

Photos are included of the two bands. Two photos are of AUGUST and a 
painting is included depicting the ESCORTS band. Painting was done by 
Fred Pearman and was commissioned by Doug Mosteller, who played trumpet 
with ESCORTS.

From that point on I have sung with smaller groups on occasion and solo 
from time to time. I like doing Karaoke when on cruises, etc. There's a 
You Tube song I did on a cruise a couple years ago on a cruise. Just a 
lot of fun! Not really my best work, but so much fun.

In this section will also be some music from the studio with these two 
bands. The AUGUST music I wrote lyrics to be used here; the ESCORTS 
music you will recognize as songs you have heard from the past.
